AOKN is a grassroots, non-profit organization established in 2002 as legacy in honour of Jane Armstrong, mother of Founder, Deborah Seigel. The network invites socially responsible corporations and individuals to support persons and agencies in need in their local community with time, talent and tangible goods.

AOKN believes that social responsibility has the power to do enormous good and potentially change the world. AOKN initially organized a Holiday Gift Drive for one local facility of 125 residents and now serves thousands of families internationally with chapters and Goodwill Ambassadors around the world.

In communities where chapters are operating, AOKN establishes relationships with charitable organizations, and continuously receives requests for those in need.  The network also receives calls from residents who have items they wish to donate.  The database is advised accordingly and that is when the magic happens! Donors are happy to know their previously loved belongings have found a home other than the landfill and the recipients are overjoyed with their good fortune…the donors act of kindness!
